iChat video conference on a 466 G3

I just got a used clamshell iBook with FireWire and 466 Mhz G3. iChat claims to need a 600Mhz G3 to do video conferences, and since this machine is really close, I was wondering if there was a way I could bypass the check and just accept slightly lower quality. Thanks for your help!
