iChat video problems

My video chat will work with some people who have ichat but then it doesnt work with others. To get the chat to work, we tried resettign out computers and logging off and on to ichat, and nothing seems to work.

Usually when ichat doesnt work between me and someone, we just sign off and back on and it works. But now my friend who has a brand new macbookpro is unable to chat with me, whereas at the sime time I am able to with someone else.

What can cause this to happen, and how can it be fixed? Will switching to a different port help?

i have the same problem.
it's infuriating.
it seems even worse in leopard.

Try disabling your router's firewall and turning off internet sharing in system preferences.

I read the webpage linked above because I had problems connecting to someone else to video chat. It gets as far as accepting and starting the chat then errors out and wants to send a report to Apple. I see where it uses SIP on 5060, how does this work when I already have Vonage that uses 5060 and is routed there by the firewall?
