he later on claimed he was installed a virus, and he seems to be correct in his hints
he said that i would see the problems when i start up my computer
and it seems to be true
it took like much more slower to boot up mac os x

he also tried to have me downloas this folder named "MacVirus" but i didnt

is this just a prank, or is this a real virus?

Whoa there ... let's not jump to conclusions - iChat + download != leap.a

If your OS is up to date you won't be affected by leap.a
If you have an Intel Mac you won't be affected by leap.a
If you didn't install anything you won't be affected by leap.a

Open up Terminal and type:
cd /tmp
ls -la

If you're infected by leap.a (which you won't be) there'll be a file called latestpics there.

You could get a Word Macro virus but that only affects Word.
