iChat won't load friends, turns white when resizing, can't send messages.

Alright, I try to open my iChat and it opens up fine, but it won't load my friends list. Sometimes a few friends load and when I click on them it opens the chat window, but it won't let me send messages. Also when I try to re-size the ichat box it turns into a white brick and doesn't change back until I force quit. I've tried deleting both the ichat and ichat AIM plists and that didn't work. Please help! Thank you.
