iChat won't recognize HD firewire camera

i have a sony HDR-HC5, but ichat won't let me use it. it doesn't show up in the camera selection drop down in the preferences. the camera only shows up in imovie. ichat will only use the built in isight... please help

I had the same problem but I switched the camera from HD mode to DV ( Digital Video ) and ichat was happy with it. I don't think ichat even with leopard understands how to talk to an HD device.
