hi im new to having a mac i have snow lepoard version 10.6.3 does ichat come pre installed with the software ive installed the applications disk again and cannot find it anywere, if not were could i download it from i have tried installing a version 2.1 but it says it is only available for os 10.3, i only want it for the webcam feature, if anyone knows of a better program it would be appriciated

Yes, iChat does come with your Mac.....

Try searching for it in Spotlight (Command-Space Bar, type "iChat")

It is not on the Snow Leopard OS disc, but it should be on the Applications disc that came with your Mac.

It should have been preinstalled on your Mac along with the OS.

Your OP is a little unclear.

Try Skype.

iChat comes pre-installed with almost all versions of OS X.
