.iChatTransfer filetype?

So a friend is sending me a folder over iChat, and I noticed that it is coming in a package like Safari downloads (see attached image). I don't do file transfers that often so maybe it isn't new, but a search of the forum didn't show anything. I'm using 10.4.6 with iChat AV 3.1.4 (v432).

Anyone else notice this?

Hmm, FWIW, I do have Chax installed, but I don't see anywhere on their website that it's a 'feature' of Chax.

yeah that file types new, i don't remember when it came to ichat but it's part of the plists now for ichat.
