I posted about this originally in iOS, as at first Apple seemed to think that was the problem. I don't think it is now, but if you want you read more here:

Otherwise, here's the quick version. Got iPhone 14 Pro on Friday but quick start brought up a screen telling me some of my apps belonged to a different Apple ID (no possibility of this), and it wanted my CURRENT iCloud password for my CURRENT iCloud ID. When I typed in my password and tapped "next," it just wouldn't progress. I was forced to skip the step.

From there, a ton of problems, that ultimately resulted in my iCloud account being somewhat messed up. For instance, when installing iOS16 on my phone and going through the set up screens, when it asks for my iCloud email/password, that's accepted. Asks me to go through FaceID, Siri and Apple Wallet next (with the cards on my account), but beyond that I can't sign in. If I try to download an App, it asks me to sign in. I put in my info, and it just returns me to the screen where I have to click to download at the app again. No rejection of password, no error, it just won't sign in and won't download anything. Same in Apple Music, etc.

Oddly enough, I CAN sign in with my ID at appleid.apple.com. There do not appear to be any issues with my account when doing that, but again, I can't sign into any services. No Apple Music, No News, no AppleTV. Speaking of which, this problem is now affecting all of my Apple devices. MacBook Air won't let me sign into music or news, AppleTV won't let me access my purchased content and wants me to sign in.

If I click "media and purchases" in my iCloud/Profile screens on phone, it thinks for a second and then just says "Unable to sign in." If I try to sign in to the App Store on desktop/MBA, it says "An unexpected error occurred while signing in - failure."

Apple can't seem to figure out what's going on, and for some reason they say I have a developer account and so developer support must help me. I'm not a developer, but I've downloaded command line tools and developer tools due to dependencies, so I guess that converted my account to a developer account. Anyway, developer support is closed on weekends, so there's been no progress on this at all. I'll talk to them today but has anyone ever experienced this? Any idea what's going on?

I'm basically cut off from my digital life right now with my iCloud account being unable to sign in.

And oddly enough, out of nowhere, after a weekend of not working, it's working again. So strange.

i have a problem on iphone 5 "unable to sign in because of a problem communicating with icloud" plzz solve this problem
