I am one of those persons who still has an email account with a @mac.com address. And like many others I have found this whole transitional iCloud very complicated in regards to services offered etc.

But my main concern is my email address as it is well established withthe people I work with and the thought of changing my email address is going to be a real pain.

Does anyone know what will happen to the old dot mac accounts? And are they being killed off soon?

Early in beta it was hinted that old me.com and mac.com emails would continue over.

me.com/move should eventually, when it goes live, allow you to port it over to the iCloud system.

Until June next year, Gallery/iDisk/etc will be accessible from me.com
Mail/Calendar/Contacts and all new stuff will be accessible from icloud.com.

You will also be upgraded to 25GB from the normal 5GB new accounts get.

Yes. If you have an active MobileMe account when you sign up for iCloud, you’ll be able to keep your me.com or mac.com email address and move your MobileMe mail, contacts, and calendars, as well as your bookmarks, to the new service. When iCloud becomes available this fall, Apple will provide details and instructions on how to make the move."

Damn that was hard to find/verify.

i have a question i have the gold master of iOS 5 can I creat an iCloud account on my phone an email for my dad to use when he gets his new phone so nobody takes his email that he wants?
