Hi, im unsure if this is a bug on my Mac as it doesn't happen on my work laptop. Every time I reboot my Mac I have to re login to my iCloud. Is this standard as I find it really annoying. I know its nothing big but having to do 2 logins every time I boot it up can become tiresome. Once I log in it says setting up account and then it won't ask for it again until I do a full reboot. Im using an M1 pro on Monterey.

Thanks

I don't know the answer to your question, though I don't think I've had to log in each time I've re-booted any Mac. I would guess there's a security or verification settng somewhere that you can adjust - hopefully someone here can help you where I can't.

That said, I just wanted to mention that I reboot or shut down my Macs maybe once or twice per year. They are perfectly happy to just sleep, rather than shut down.

I started shutting it down as I don't use it all the time. Every time I went back to it when it was in sleep the battery was dead. I thought they were supposed to last ages in sleep mode.

Depending on how long you're taling, there might be something going on... I'd start with turning off 'power nap', which allows your Mac to update things, etc. while it's asleep.

thanks but power nap isn't even there as an option. Don't want to go off topic though. This iCloud thing is driving me mad!

This should not be happening. I've never had this kind of problem with any of my Apple devices. When you restart your Mac and enter your password, then you should be logged back into iCloud automatically. If that isn't happening then something is wrong with your setup.

Do you the two-factor authentication on?

There are some recommendations provided on this Apple support page. If they don't help, then my suggestion is that you contact Apple Support via chat, and get them to assist.
