Hey everyone this is just something I observed. Originally I assumed that when automatic downloads was enabled for apps on iPad it would download any app I put on my phone even if it was specifically made for both phone and iPad.
Recently I tried to test this by downloading just a random app on my iPhone that wasn't made for both and it only went on my phone and not to iPad. Then I downloaded a app with the little plus symbol next to it meaning it's made for both and then it started downloading on both. So I guess I will enable this on my iPad since it won't just download any app I put on my phone. Thank goodness.
