iCloud backup says I'm over 5gb

My camera roll WAS 5.2gb but I deleted 75% of the pictures. Under usage it now says camera roll 1.4gb. But then when I go into iCloud it says camera roll 5.2gb. So it will not do an iCloud backup. Any suggestions?

You need to delete your old icloud back up and initiate a new one. You can also turn off some apps to allow more room for other things in backup. App data really isn't necessary unless you really need it.

Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > Manage Storage > Select your Backup > Delete Back up

Then go back to Storage & Backup and select "Back up".
