iCloud Drive and Box

Hi there. I recently got a new iMac, and set it up using iCloud Drive for my documents. I also have Box and use that. I realized that my box documents were put in to my iCloud Drive, filling up my drive. My last Mac didn't do this. What did I do wrong here?
