Hi there,
In order to upgrade my Windows 7 laptop to Windows 10, I decided to use iCloud Drive to back up around 70GB of data.
My intention was to download the files to my MacBook Air (Latest version of Yosemite) for safe keeping.
I uploaded the content to iCloud Drive with no issues, though the Windows 7 laptop was shutdown before all the uploaded files were synced. After they'd been physically uploaded, I wasn't aware they had to sync to be available elsewhere.
As a result, only the files synced downloaded to the iCloud Drive folder on my MacBook Air.
I turned my Windows 7 laptop back on to finish the syncing process.
However, after syncing, when I come to download the remaining files to the iCloud Drive folder on my MacBook Air the files never finished to download.
Instead, the little progress bars on each file stalled - would get half way filled or more - but never complete.
Despite this, the SSD of my MacBook Air continued to fill up and up, until all of the available SSD space was filled. It was if the MacBook Air was downloading the files again and again, without recognising they had downloaded.
All the previously in synced files were still showing as 'Not Downloaded' in the iCloud Drive folder and I was unable to open them on the MacBook Air.
Questions...
Has anyone else had this happen?
If the files were 'not downloaded' why was my entire 256GB SSD filled? What filled it?
Is there a temporary iCloud Drive download folder for part downloaded files?
Why did the MacBook Air not recognise the files had been downloaded (or part downloaded) and continue to download the files over and over again filling up the entire SSD?
Any genuine help is much appreciated!
Thanks in advance ☺️
