Hello, i recently had a seemingly unusual situation occur that I thought I would try to start a conversation about.

After spending a day trying to fix a kernel panic on my Mac Pro (2013), i was finally able to restore off of a previous Time Machine backup from a few days earlier).

I have a spreadsheet (i use on a daily basis) in Apple Numbers that I opened later on that evening, which got confused by this situation - and seemingly corrupted the file. I was then unable to open Numbers on any OS device, and was unable to open the specific spreadsheet on my iOS (but was able to open other Numbers files). Number quit on the launch. The file was also unavailable to access at iCloud.com.

I wasn't able to access the document anywhere, the versions, or open Numbers on anything but my iPhone. The issue is that this spreadsheet is important, and had a lot of data i needed. Wtf! I hadn't saved it as I believed it to be a safe file.

I was forced to once again restore of that same previous TM backup in order to access the file before it was corrupted, which worked - but seemed like a long way to go in the case of a corrupted iCloud Drive document.

I use online backup (Arq), which is automatic. Is there a way to backup iCloud Drive (~/Library/Mobile Documents/com~apple~CloudDocs/)? When I select the folder in the iCloud Drive in the sidebar it's backup is incomplete.
