Hi there!

I have a simple question and probably is something basic...

In the icloud setup on my iphone I can see apps that use icloud on my phone.

But under the “icloud drive” section I see Dropbox and Drive (google drive). Whatsapp is fine because I set up the backup of the messages, groups, etc.

But why Google Drive and Dropbox are (or can) use Icloud Drive? I turned it off but I can’t find the reason why are in there? If they are indepent services...

Thanks!!

They don’t use iCloud for storing your files, if that’s what you’re wondering - whatever you put into Google Drive or Dropbox is stored on their servers, respectively.

Unfortunately I don’t know for a fact what GD and DB use iCloud for, but when it’s not used for storing documents, it’s often used for syncing app settings between all Apple devices you use.
