Hey guys.

My iCloud Drive has been trying to upload more than 20 GB for days. And I'm not even progressing by a quarter. The MacBook battery is empty every two hours because the process is quite CPU-intensive.

Can you cancel or stop the whole thing? I already finished the Bird process but of course it continues after a few seconds ...
i don’t know what to do...

Deactivate iCloud Drive, Photos in iCloud, etc.

I tried. But if i activate it again it continues to download or upload immediately
It will continue until synchronized. Remove all files from Desktop and Documents to another location and readd them little by little so it doesn't affect your internet connection. Those are files that, probably, aren't already uploaded to iCloud so, until all is synchronized your computer will keep trying. It gets worse if your internet connection is slow

I would avoid using iCloud Drive. Not a very stable or user friendly product.

Never had a problem since the inception of iCloud drive. Using it daily. Ridiculous.

But: I have not activated the Desktop and Documents sync feature. I only sync what I place myself in iCloud drive. It’s a better way to control what goes inside this.

I would follow LuisN recommendation. Move files from any synchronized folders (Desktop and Documents likely) to another folder. Wait for it to synchronize everything, and then place your file one after the other. It should work like this.

Do you have a good internet connection ? iCloud works best with a 10+ mbps upload speed.
