That sucks. I'm using 1.5gb just for my phone. My wife takes another 1gb and our iPad takes 500gb. That leaves us a shared 2gb for photos, videos and any other files. I know what some will say, "use Family Sharing for your wife's phone". Can't do that YET. We use a PC and the use Photo Stream to back up all our photos to the PC. The Photo Stream control panel only allows one user id.
I know I could buy more space but I just don't want to and I'll deal with it. I just would have thought Apple would be a little more generous with their storage. After all I get 1tb on Flickr, 50gb on box, etc.

You and your wife should use separate apple/icloud accounts but with the same CC. then you can each get 5GB storage, plus youll be able to share app purchases. (I think thats how it works).
