Background: I have been syncing my older MBP and iMac to iCloud Drive for some months. Been working great and very nice to have files available on my iPhone and iPad. Both Macs are running a High Sierra due too their age. Just picked up a 2015 MacBook Air. Previous owner had wiped it and restored it to El Capitan. I upgraded it to Catalina. Signed onto iCloud and told it to sync everything except Documents and Desktop due to limited size of SSD. Told it to Optimize Mac storage. Photos seems to have synced fine. Other items like Mail, Keychain, bookmarks are working fine. Turned on documents and desktop in iCloud Drive as I had enough space. Nothing in documents or desktop syncs to the air and anything I save on the Air doesn’t show up in iCloud. If I access iCloud Drive via Safari, everything is there.

What am I missing here? Tried turning documents and desktop off and back on and it had no effect. Tried rebooting, no change. Let it sit running overnight, no change. Only thing I didn’t try was logging out of iCloud because I didn’t want to download all my pix again due to my internet connection.
