I've been using iCloud Drive for some time now on my Apple devices and devices running Windows and I'm not happy with the quality of the service when any Windows machine is involved.

Yes, there's a new-ish iCloud app (that installs and manages the distinct services of the iCloud family) but I've been experiencing all sorts of issues since I can remember. Examples of issues are no syncing, constant restarting or stuck at "initializing...", renaming of files by appending `(1)`, to name a few.

Is it just me or the Windows counterpart of iCloud has never been on par with basically any other cloud-storing service?

This rant is not about a particular setup or a Windows version. I work with computers and I've always had access to pretty much any IT system out there, perhaps apart from mainframes and quantum computers. The story is always the same. Pity because Apple took pride in iTunes for Windows once upon a time. Remember when Steve Jobs told the story of a user who regarded iTunes as a glass of water in the hell called Windows?

I'd be curious to learn how many developers are working on the client applications of iCloud and what percentage of them have been assigned to the Windows apps...
