I have a few devices all using iCloud Drive to keep documents in sync (2011 iMac, 2016 MBP, iPad, iPhone). I have just formatted my iMac as it was getting unbearably slow. I'm signed into the same iCloud account on all devices, but the iMac shows the iCloud Drive as empty. It's been a few hours now, and nothing shows up.

Does anyone have any idea why this would happen? or ideas on what can be done to resolve it?

Both the iMac and MBP use File Vault if that matters.

Thanks

I have recently done the same and was surprised how long it took iCloud Drive to fully sync and be back to where it was. But "a few hours" does sound rather long. iCloud Drive repopulated progressively, so I would expect to see some items there before now. Assume you have tried restarting. Could also uncheck/recheck iCloud Drive in iCloud Pref pane.

BTW, I have never known a Mac slow up due to age, like Windows does, so would not have formatted. When I did it recently it was because it wouldn't boot to Recovery and DU said the partition map was corrupted.
