I have a folder in iCloud Drive and I want to put a document in with other, The problem is the document goes into iCloud Drive ok but the folder rejects it . Any ideas welcome!

Did you create the folder, or was it created by an application?
If the former, press Cmd + I (or right click and Get Info) to see if the folder is locked or your permissions are set to Read only.
If the latter, then you can only save files to the folder with the application that created it. Your only option is to create another folder yourself.
