Currently on iOS5 there is no icloud email sync, for example lets say I get an email and a notification appears on both the iPhone and iPad as you'd expect. Reading this email on one device does not remove the notification on the other, you have to enter the mail app for the 'mark as read' to activate and remove the notification, which basically means you have to read every email twice.

I know it's possible for this to be implemented as Gmail does exactly what I'd like, as does Apple's own iMessage service. Have they finally sorted out this annoying bug on iOS6?

Cheers :)

A "bug" is something that does not work according to "design". Not updating the Read Notification on the iOS Devices is by "design" so therefore not a "bug". Also, you do not need to do "mark as read". This will happen automatically once you open the mail app.
