Hi, wife and I both have iPhone 11 - 128gb. I have a MacBook Pro oldish and she has a very old MacBook Pro.

we subscribed to iCloud family sharing but we don’t know what for! Is it worth it and how do we use it?
I’m thinking of ending the subscription but would like to know what it’s useful for if anything?!

Mostly it just rolls both of your icloud storage subscriptions into one. Assuming you require more than the free 5Gb each it may be worth it, or not. It does allow for other sharing opportunities as well. I am certain someone will elaborate.

We subscribe to the $2.99/mo 200GB iCloud plan for the household. Ours is mostly used by device backups and photos.

I think the 5GB free is probably too small for most.

I subscribe to the 2TB plan and use Family Sharing. The plan backs up both of our iPhones and iPads. I use iCloud Photo Library, so that takes up a big chunk. I also have a HomeKit Secure Video camera, and plan on getting another one, so their video storage will be free with this plan. I've also put my mother on my family plan to keep her iPhone and iPad backed up.

For your use case, you could easily create a shared folder on iCloud drive to share files across all of your devices. Pictures, videos, spreadsheets, documents, whatever makes sense for you. Then you would both have access to the files from your phones and MacBooks.
