iCloud Find my iPhone – iDevices turn off WiFi automatically causing Find My iPhone to not work

Hi,

I have an iPad and iPhone linked to my iCloud account. When the devices are locked they appear to be turned off to Find My iPhone because the WiFi is switched off to save power. How do I make my devices visible at all times on the Find my iPhone map? My iPhone for example is on the table in my living room but on Find my iPhone it shows the last location from 10 hours ago. This would be very problematic if any of my devices were ever stolen by a thief.

Well the thief would have to turn the screen on to shut down the device so you'll get it's last known location regardless.. After he shuts the device down, "find my" won't work anyway..
