iCloud for Podcasts?

I'm trying to transition to iCloud instead of syncing. This works great for photos and such, but my main non-phone use is for podcasts.

I don't see a way to have my phone or iCloud automatically download new episodes of podcasts. Is this possible?

Nope. Apple has basically abandoned capable podcast support.

Luckily, it's at least stopped banning third party apps that do a better job from the app store.

The app Downcast works well for managing podcasts on the iPhone.

Try Instacast or Downcast. Those apps are great for managing podcasts directly on your iOS devices.
