I use the Contacts "note" field extensively and depend on the information I enter there to function at many levels, and now I have access only to the top part of the text, as the bar will not scroll down past a space limited by the size of the computer screen. I know the text is still there because I can copy and paste it to another medium (text, for example) where I can read the entire the text and edit it too, but not from within Contacts. It's definitely a system glitch and the "genius" told me he was going to escalate it and refer the problem to the Apple's engineers but it has been several days and I have not heard back from anyone at Apple. What to do???? Please help!

Reset your expectations. This is not likely critical enough by a long way to have any Dev's at Apple jump straight on it as their top priority.

Without knowing, you may have a really edge use-case for that field, Apple may well assess it when they see it and decide not to fix it.

I have the same glitch. I'm sure it's a known bug that will be fixed in the "future".

Thank you Simonsi for your reply. Very disheartening. I feel like a hostage. I really need access to the information in Contacts and need to be able to make quick edits. It's setting me back big time.

Does the problem depend on certain types of data? I just created a 300+ line note and it scrolls and edits just fine.

You should at least be able to access them at the website of where they're synced.

Sounds like you're using your Contacts app as sort of a CRM system. I hope your exporting them occasionally as a backup.

You're correct. I enter a lot of information (just typed texts, no graphics, charts, photos, etc.) regarding interactions with contacts in the note field. The problem is new, though. It started after the HIGH SIERRA update. I have an external hard drive and after my visit to the Apple Store, the "in my mac" entry was removed by the "genius" and now I only enter info under the "iCloud" label, so I would think that everything is backed up, but I'll ascertain it at the genius bar. Thank you for the reply and the suggestion made.

The problem started after the High Sierra update. It may be a coincidence. Trying to find solutions for the problem, I just found out that iCloud sets storage limits for Calendar, Contacts, Reminders and Bookmarks:
https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202158 -- After three visits to the Genius Bar, no one mentioned that storage limit could be cause of the issue I'm experiencing, but I'll investigate it further. The problem is erratic, sometimes can't be duplicated with cards that had malfunctioned before, and it happens with long and short texts. I've 1,142 cards (50,000 are allowed.) The jumping cursor that can only stabilize if I use the arrows to move the around is another big issue. Thank you, dsemf!
