So, just went through upgrading all the iPads and iPhones in the house to 6.1 - and yesterday, the girlfriend's to 6.1.1.

I'm really disliking that you have to go through 'setup' every time you update the OS - I don't get it, and it's time consuming when you're doing 5+ devices in one go.

Is there any way to skip straight to the springboard? Maybe there's some reason Apple requires you to go through setup every time you upgrade?

I think this only happens if you download the full update tethered to itunes - I noticed it with 6.1 (upgrading my 4S plugged into the computer) but not when I did the OTA upgrade to 6.1.1 last night. So OTA might be the way to go if it really bugs you.

To be honest I'm not sure why upgrading via the computer doesn't just pull down and use the same delta update as the OTA, but it doesn't..

These were OTA updates. You didn't get the setup nags?

Nope, not for 6.1.1 - only for 6.1 (on the same 4S). I'd put it down to 6.1 being done via itunes and 6.1.1 OTA but obviously not.

Had your GF's phone been updated to 6.1 (with the nags) previously? Just wondering if having gone through it with 6.1 spared me with 6.1.1.
