iCloud Keychain not working on MacRumors?

Hey,

I changed my password. Selected Safari's password suggestion, and saved.

I go to log in and it's using my old iCloud Keychain info for MacRumors. I search and it's the only entry, too.

I do it again. Same issue. I deleted the old entry this time time, and did it once more. I ended up having to take a screen of the password and then typing it in.

It still isn't adding the password/username into iCloud keychain when I log in though.

Auto fill is on. And forced auto fill is on.

Any idea's why?

You are not alone. I have tried for the past half hour, and multiple password resets, to get iCloud Keychain to work with MacRumors forums. iCloud Keychain suggests a new password, I go with that, and save. But that saved password is no where to be found in Safari's list of saved passwords. AND the autofill isn't working. Help!

Same thing just happened to me as well. Figured I was doing something wrong

If you have an iOS device, log in from there. It will save the password, unlike Safari on OS X.

Workaround posted in another thread (not my post, not taking credit):

Log out of MacRumors if logged in

Get to a place on the forums where you can put in your login and pass. Enter your login and pass but DO NOT ENTER THE SITE yet.

Reload (Command-R) the page, voila, there you go, Safari will offer to remember the login/pass combination.

Easy-peasy - I spent 30 minutes trying to do this earlier today until I found this workaround.

I wonder if it has something to do with the Vbulletin software? Another site I visit was acting the same way. Tried to post without being logged in, and the autofill worked.

Lol, it worked for me too except for the fact that I'm now using a password suggested by MacRumors rather than iCloud

i spent an hour last night setting keychain up assuming i had a problem as i would not save only to realise tonight it was MR site the workaround works though

Thanks for the post of the workaround. I was getting annoyed as I went into the User CP and wanted to change my password because of the security breach. Decided to use the suggested Keychain one and then when I went to log in on the main page it didn't remember it. So had to get a reset done through email. Then had to write it down and do the workaround. Very annoying system.
