I like the syncing of password accross different devices, but one thing bothers me. Why is it neccessary to set a lock code for a device in order to enable the icloud keychain password?

I prefer to leave my iPhone and iPad unlocked. I case they would get stolen, I can either remotely wipe and/or lock them or they will be wiped by the thief. Worst case scenario they could read some emails and update my fb status.

But having an open access to all my usernames / passwords is another thing.

For now it seems that it is not possible to lock only the keychain.

Is it so by design? Is there some logic in that that I don't get?
