i want to setup 1Password to start autofilling passwords for websites and apps. Is this completely different from saving passwords to iCloud Keychain? Is there a reason to use iCloud Keychain if you use 1Password?

Thanks

Yes, different.

I use Keychain and mSecure. On the Mac, enter a password, saved to Keychain. I will also put an entry into mSecure. If for some reason Keychain did not save (happens, not sure why), I have it in the mSecure app.

These days, I will generally create the password/entry in mSecure and copy/paste the password into the account create form, which in turn will get the "save to Keychain".

When on iOS, now have option to pull from either place, if one is missing the login info (usually Keychain).

Keychain is ok for website sign ins, but if want to track other things, a password manager is the way to go (yes, Keychain on Mac allows for notes and general information, but does not transfer to iCloud [only signons move to iCloud]).
