I hope this is the right section of the forums for this request. If not, please move it to the correct section. I bought a new macbook, which has been great, but my iCloud mail (mac.com address) and my google mail account keep getting an error message that says (it's the same message for both accounts):

"Could not connect to this IMAP server. Check your network connection and that you entered the correct information in the Account preferences. Also verify that the server supports SSL. If it does not, deselect the "Use SSL" checkbox in the Advanced tab of the account preferences"

The error goes away if I restart the computer, but it seems to happen at least once a day, so restarting the computer that often is a bit of a hassle. The odd part of this is that I still have my old Mac (Macbook Pro) and both of my email accounts work fine on that computer, as well as on my iPhone & iPad. I feel like there is a setting set up incorrectly on the Macbook, but when I go through the accounts in the preferences section of the mail app & compare them to the settings in the Macbook Pro. Everything is set up exactly the same (including the incoming mail server). When I set up the computer, I did a fresh start (I didn't copy anything over from another computer), and I used the default icloud setup and then the default google setup for my other account. I didn't modify any settings or do anything else to the accounts.

Any ideas what might be going on. Sometimes if I just let it go, the issue resolves itself, but sometimes it doesn't. It just seems weird that my other computer works fine & it's only this one where I am having issues.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
