Apple's iCloud Mail servers seem to be experiencing some downtime, with multiple reports on Twitter suggesting the service is unavailable for a number of users.

iCloud Mail issues appear to have started just before 2:00 p.m. Pacific Time, which is around when we here at MacRumors first noticed problems with our own accounts.

Affected users are seeing pop up alerts when attempting to access their iCloud Mail messages. Some alerts are blank, while others let users know there was a problem loading Mail.

At this time, Apple's System Status page is not reporting any outages. It's not clear how many people are experiencing problems with Mail, but not everyone is affected.

I tried sending an email today with a 10MB attachment using Spark. After a few minutes it told me that it failed to send. Not sure if this had anything to do with it. Weird nevertheless..

Hmm, I faced all of a sudden unresponsivness when using the web-based icloud.com mail application. I don't use it often though. Wonder if there was a conncection.

I have been able to receive emails to my iCloud.com account but I can't send any emails out via this account and have to use a different account. Only seems to be a problem on my MacBook Pro laptop. My iPhone email seems to be working. The problem started after I restarted following a software update. No warning messages though.
