Hey there!

I've just made the switch from Yahoo Mail to iCloud Mail, and, to be honest, it's been a bit of a nightmare.
I've successfully moved all my Yahoo Mails over to iCloud via Mail on my MacBook and they are visible online on iCloud.com as they should be (around 20,000 mails).

However, on my iOS and iPad OS devices, things are going completely wrong: Mail on both my iPhone and iPad are only showing like the first five most recent messages, and from then downwards, I'm straight up seeing mails from 2016 and 2017, nothing in between.

Searching for e-mails does work, however, and shows me all relevant results. Those search results do appear in the inbox shortly after the search on the respective device, but disappear as soon as I refresh the inbox.

I've tried to already do my fair bit of research, and have tried the following steps:
  • Delete the Mail app on both devices
  • Disable and re-enable iCloud Mail
  • Sign out of iCloud on both devices and sign back in
All of this above did unfortunately not solve the issue.

As far as this situation goes, iCloud Mail is completely unusable, as I can't even see mails from last week in my inbox without explicitly searching for them. Furthermore, it's showing me that there are 84 unread messages in my inbox (which is correct), but I simply can't access them when e.g. filtering my inbox.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Many thanks!
– Steve

I had this exact issue a couple of weeks ago after bringing my custom domain over to iCloud. Royal pain in the ass. Honestly, I never really found a solution that fixed it but I do believe it ironed itself out after several days. I did all of the steps you did as well several times and nothing worked so I had to just give up. But again, I believe it is all proper now.

Another issue I had (That may or may not be related) was my send from email addresses weren't syncing on icloud.com and my devices. In other words, I would disable my @me email address alias because I don't use it but the setting wouldn't stick. Many of my devices would reactivate the alias after turning it off as well. Looks like that issue just got ironed out the last couple days and all seems to be good now.

I'd give it a few days to a week and see if it's still out of whack. Good luck.
