Finally got around to updating to iOS 12 today. After the update, there was an alert that correctly displayed my Apple ID as asked me to sign in. Entered my password and was told it was incorrect. Tried this 3 times and confirmed I was entering the correct password, so I finally skipped it and was warned that some features might not work.

But everything I've tried works fine - iCloud mail, iMessage, iTunes purchases. Also got an alert on my two Macs that my phone was now using my Apple ID. Had to sign in when I went to the app store, but that was fine.

So what's up with this? Is it a known bug in iOS 12? Not a big deal, since everything works, but am just curious why it wouldn't accept my password during the setup process after the upgrade?

[edit]Just noticed this story, perhaps it was just a glitch related to Apple's system problems? https://www.macrumors.com/2018/11/20/apple-services-outage/
