My mom decided to upgrade her phone to iOS 13 without my supervision and somehow ended up resetting her iCloud password and turning on 2FA.
The main issue is that I had setup her device a long time ago and she was using her iCloud ID for backups but my ID for the Applestore (pre-family sharing setup). I was hoping her iPad would receive the code but it does not because it was setup using the iPhone backup in the same scenario.
I’m not sure how but she wrote down her password incorrectly and we are unable to sign in. I’ve tried the password reset confirming her phone number and 3 times after the recovery period nothing has happened.
I‘ve called Apple 3 times now to no avail and first and second level support are stumped basically just stating wait until the time is up. I can’t sign out of the account since we don’t have the password to iCloud.
How can I prove ownership of the device? The info on iCloud is all correct as far as phone / address etc.
TLDR;
Parent forgot iCloud PW and can’t reset it due to unknown reasons. How do I prove ownership and help her regain access?
