iCloud Photo Library randomly has tens of thousands of items to upload

Anyone know why this happens? (Screenshot attached) My library is already synced; this happens entirely at random once in a while. It's annoying because it takes about an hour plugged in and on Wifi for it to fix itself, and iCloud Photo Library won't sync until then.

I haven't noticed any data loss or library corruption but it's still a bit worrying.

Happens to me too randomly, not sure why.

I get numbers like those for ICloud Drive on the desktop....which is never in sync....and stays at 10,000 for days. It's pretty horrible.

Me too. I can't help but get very worried every time as it has corrupted the files once before (but then seemed to have corrected itself when synced a second time?)
