iCloud photo question

Now that you can uplaod photos to your I cloud library I am just wondering I have 12gb of photos on my laptop that I wish to upload but only 1gb of space left on my iPhone so will these photos just use my iCloud storage or will It also use my iPhone storage meaning I won't be able to have all these photos on my phone?

I think they stay on phone till you move them off. But, not sure as I am also just looking into this. You can try just a couple photos and see.


But, you get 5gb default on iCloud. So, you will have to upgrade storage.

I just turned on the iCloud Photo Library (Beta) and it wanted to Sync and remove all my photos from iTunes. I don't want that, so this feature may not be usable for me. Thought you could select only what you wanted.
