Hi everyone,
I'm having a weird problem with yosemite that I've never experienced before. I restarted my 2013 MBA and noticed my fans were running full blast for a good 5 minutes after the restart (as I type this they are still running full blast). Opened activity monitor and saw that theres a process called iCloud Photos using most of my CPU....anyone know what this is?
-I have a big iPhoto library but I've never seen the process iCloud photo's using my CPU. Also, I've never experienced high CPU usage before from iPhoto unless the app is open. The app is closed right now and I haven't opened it for a few days.
-I haven't signed up for the iCloud photo library beta yet....was waiting for iOS 8.1 to do that.
-I did an upgrade from mavericks and not a clean install. However, I have restarted multiple times after upgrading without any issue.
Under the network activity tab of activity monitor, I see that "iCloud photo" is receiving a lot of data. Thinking this could be my shared photo streams or my personal photo stream, I opened up iPhoto. However, all of my photo stream and shared iCloud photos are already downloaded to my computer.....
So any idea whats going on?
