iPhone XR Icloud Photos

I have today restored via icloud to my new phone but have just noticed that 'icloud photos' was switched off when I last backed up therefore they are not on my new device. Is there a way I can get them on the new phone without doing a full backup and restore again?

Photos aren't included in the backup anyway (like apps aren't). Just turn iCloud photos on in settings on the new phone, they should all sync down from iCloud. You may need to plug the phone in to power to get it to do the initial big download.

I agree. It may take a full nights sleep to finish but it will work

Similar question with regard to mail; I have all my inboxes set up with the passwords re-entered but I'm not getting any emails at all (even though I know I am getting some having checked on my laptop). Any idea what may be causing this?
