iCloud primary e-mail switch?

Is it possible to make an old mobileme e-mail as the primary iCloud e-mail instead of the one that we're prompted to make while setting up?

Apparently not...

I had to create a new iCloud account to get the cloud stuff working. It would not take my current Apple ID (gmail account) or my current Mobile Me email. As soon as I went through the create new account, everything worked. Not sure if it's a "beta" issue or not.
