iCloud push el capitan

Very surprised by this

I had no issues with Yosemite firstly

I clean installed El Capitan n setup up brand new

I've noticed that whilst the contacts app was open on the Mac whatever I addded to my iPhone which would sync immediately to the cloud (verified with www.icloud.com and iPad ) would not appear on the mac.

If I closed the app n reopened it, immediately it will be pulled down and added.

Again Yosemite didn't have this issue. On Yosemite, contacts would update immediately even with the app open.

Reminders, mail, notes, calendar all have push working. Just contacts

Any idea?
