I searched around and haven't found an answer to this one. Hopefully someone here can help.

My wife and I each got a 4s at release and I set them both up at the same time.

We share an iTunes account, so I figured sharing iCloud would be a good idea too.

WRONG! Obviously, I shouldn't have done this and all of my contacts/calendar items automatically went into her phone.

Later I removed my iCloud info from her phone and set her up with her own.

Problem is - all the contacts/calendars remain.

Is there a simple way of replacing whats already on there? It would be a mess to delete individually - as my work contacts are on there now and number in the thousands.

Thanks!

Well you could have kept your account on her device and tried to turn "Off" Contacts in the iCloud settings.
