iCloud iCloud says I have 4G on one screen, none on the other

iCloud says I have 4G of 5G of saved messages in the storage screen but when viewing the messages stored screen it says I have none. Any idea why?

Looks like a bug. The second screenshot is saying that they’ve been deleted, and that they should have been permanently deleted 548 days ago. The 4GB is probably stuck in some sort of recycle bin. Maybe try undoing the delete, and delete again.

And also if I delete them from iCould, will it also remove them from my phone?
This is something I could never understand about iCloud.

That’s a negative number. It says -548 days. I’m guessing you turned off Messages in iCloud about a year and a half ago? It should have permanently deleted the messages 30 days after that.

And also if I delete them from iCould, will it also remove them from my phone?
This is something I could never understand about iCloud.

No, the messages will stay on your phone.

It’s only been a month or two since I deleted the messages from iCloud.
