So, I updated my iPhone 4 to iOS 5 on Wednesday... and it backed up then, obviously. And then I did an iCloud backup last night.

I got my iPhone 4S today, and I got it at the AT&T store, where they just activate it; I didn't get to set anything up at all.

So, now I am home... how do I restore it properly? I just did some research... and it seems that iCloud won't put back my iTunes library, so I'll need to use iTunes for that route. But, given that I synced my phone last with iCould, can I use iTunes to get the basics back and then the final details like my texts, app data, with iCloud? My fair is I don't wanna "restore" from backup; I wanna just overlap the two backups, kinda...

I had the same thing happen at Verizon. Just reset the iPhone and repeat the setup process. It'll give you the opportunity to restore an iCloud backup. It puts the phone back exactly as it was and then you can sync with iTunes to get your music and photos back.
