iCloud with Mac OS X 10.6.8

So I downloaded iCloud to use with my phone and it doesnt work with 10.6.8? I thought the update allowed us to do wireless syncing with devices and use iCloud. Will they make people purchase Lion to use iCloud?

Yeah, I don't think iCloud is what you think it is.

I downloaded an app for the OS X called icloud but it wouldnt let me install because I didnt have Lion. I thought icloud allowed you to save files and information and sync through all your devices. Is that only iOS devices like touch, ipads, and iphones?
