I'm a new mavericks user and I'm puzzled about how to complete a task.

I'm working a project which involves several folders, which I want to put in my dock so I don't have to keep going to the Finder window. The problem is, the folders all appear with the same icon: a blue folder. This defeats my purpose so I'd like to have different icons to tell what's what.

I changed the icons on two of the folders in Finder, but when I try to move those to the dock the changed icons don't transfer. Instead a get a sheet of paper icon that says "doc."

How can I change the dock icons?

I just tried it and this worked for me. Change the folder icon in the Get Info screen, then drag the folder to the dock. Once in the dock, right-click on it and under "Display as" choose "Folder".

By gosh, that worked. Many thanks.
