Here is what I'm trying to figure out:

1. When I arrange icons in finder by "kind", that arrangement doesn't show up in Dreamweaver or Photoshop or any other application when I go to open a file. I've tried reopening the apps.

2. So far I can only arrange my icons be each folder and can't seem to set up a generic, "open all my folders in columns view and arrange them by kind" and REMEMBER these settings. Sheesh!

I'm using OS X 10.5.5

thanks,
Justin

1. I'm completely stumped on this one.

2. This is easy to fix. Set up a folder the way you like it, then open up View Options for that folder. See that button at the bottom that says Set as Defaults? Click that.

Hmm.. doesn't seem like the default cocoa open panel respects this setting. I don't think it's possible.

1. Yeah I'm stumped too. :)
2. Ok, so I clicked on the default. Is there any way to get it so that folders are always listed first instead of other groups of files?

thanks,
Justin

I ended up sorting the files in the individual applications. Seems weird that the apps wouldn't remember settings.
