I have been seeing an odd issue that I wanted to see of others were experiencing as well. I have a 2021 16" MBP that I dock most of the time with two 1440 27" Dell monitors connected through a CalDigit TS3+. It's the same setup I have used for several years now, first with a 2016 15" and then a 2019 16" MBP. Through all of those setups this worked without a hitch.
Since I have been using my new laptop though I have noticed that when I shift from laptop mode to docked mode the icons I have on my desktop shift in their spacing, assumedly going from the wide menu bar in laptop mode for the notch to the narrow menu bar in docked mode for the external displays. I've tried monkeying around with the icon size, grid spacing, text size and label position in the desktop view settings, but it seems to be there regardless of what settings I do.
Has anyone else seen this? Any thoughts on how to fix it? Is there a wide to keep the wider menu bar on the notch-less external monitors?
