Icon Size in File Dialogs

I know this is a strange question, but how do you set the size of the icons that appear in the dialog box that opens any time you need to choose a file? I know how to set icon sizes in Finder (and have set a system default), but for some reason that is not translating to the choose file dialog. Funny thing is that is seemed to happen after I got my machine back with a new logic board. Icons in Finder are the right size, but they are big in the file dialogs. It's getting pretty annoying to have these big icons of folders and files.
